Honda has filed a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the name ‘Prozision,’ stylised in all capitals.
As is the case with every new trademark, there’s a chance the name may never see the light of day, but if it does, here’s where we might see it.
Vision Sounds Like A Concept
Several automakers attach the “Vision” name to their wildest concepts, such as those used in the Gran Turismo video game, but sometimes, these concepts come to life. For example, BMW’s Vision Neue Klasse X closely previews the next BMW X3. Assuming that the “ision” part of the name actually means something and isn’t the end of a poor attempt at spelling the word “provision,” Honda is likely intending to use this name for a concept that previews a vehicle that would arrive sometime over the course of the next decade.
Potentially Previews Next-Gen EV Tech
Honda has been working hard on solid-state batteries, and it recently came to life that the automaker hopes to extract as much as 620 miles of range from EVs equipped with these by the end of the decade. Production of solid state batteries will begin in January, albeit only in the pilot phase for now.
Based on recent Honda developments in the automotive space, our best guess is that the Prozision name will find its way to a concept that previews a post-2030 Honda Prologue. However, as the company is heavily involved with boats, planes, and garden equipment, too, this could be the name of a new lawnmower.
